Apologies on Repeat

I'm tired of being wrong,
in no matter what I do.
It's the words I don't say
it’s always wrong to you.

It feels like with each step
I break along the way
I shouldn't have eaten that
I shouldn't have asked to play.

If I speak to display my side
I'm defensive, not allowed a view.
If I say even a word
I'm not listening to you.

So, I just sit quietly—that's what I try
"I'm sorry," I'll say again.
I'm tired of being wrong.
Again and again.
